Financial Accountant (12 month contract)

Reporting to the Senior Manager in this team of accounting professionals, you will enjoy the opportunity this role provides to work across different entities. Responsibility for timely and accurate reporting is a key element of this role, coupled with reconciliations and other financial control tasks. This opportunity is a great chance for a CA / CPA qualified accountant, with some financial services experience to jump in to a bigger role, whilst having the security of great mentors and an experienced team. Training and development in technical areas and soft skills are important to this employer and the collaborative work culture is second to none.
Responsibilities include:
- Accounting, reporting and reconciliation activities for nominated entities
- Balance sheet account reconciliations and maintaining relevant supporting documentation
- Provide financial analysis of information when required
- Group reporting of financial information
- Prepare financial statements
- Prepare prudential reporting forms for APRA and assist with external audit
- Development of statistical information reports for the ABS
- Group projects
- Monthly BAS and income tax reporting, and assist the tax team
This role will suit someone with around 3 years experience in Financial Accounting, with experience in Financial Services. You will be degree qualified in Accounting with CA / CPA being advantageous. You have strong attention to detail, enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent systems skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
