About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for leading the maintenance service function including all operators and contractors. You will be accountable for ensuring the plant is maintained in a safe manner, all tradesmen are appropriately inducted and supervised, and providing support throughout the entire production process. Managing and motivating a sizeable team forms part of the challenge and reward in this role. You will be able to utilise your commercial acumen to manage key stakeholder relationships including different departments and senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a maintenance culture of continuous improvement, as well as reviewing maintenance tasks to ensure short- and long-term plant reliability outcomes are achieved
  • Building a collaborative work relationship with both maintenance and production teams
  • Ensuring people comply with maintenance procedures and all work is performed of the right quality standard
  • Develop maintenance budget for business such as reporting maintenance cost and preparing operational and capital budgets
  • Reduce reliance on maintenance shuts to perform maintenance work
  • Reporting of spare parts costs monthly and understand variances to budget
  • Ensure all work by employees or contractors is performed in accordance with environmental guidelines

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably within the manufacturing industry. It is required that you hold either a trade or tertiary qualification in engineering, or a similar field. Excellent written and verbal communication is a must, to effectively communicate change and resolve differences between the production and trades team .The ideal candidate, will have the ability to show exceptional leadership qualities and capabilities, such as team coaching and development. This role requires both persistence and energy for continuous improvement and proactively manage change.
