About the Role
  
Reporting to the Head of Service Optimisation, this role’s purpose is to be accountable for guaranteeing thorough end-to-end risk management, enabling well-informed business decisions and favourable customer outcomes. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the safe implementation of product and process changes, as well as supporting the operation team in managing and overseeing risks throughout the operations value chain.

Key responsibilities include

  • Assessing new, existing, and changing processes, and putting risk mitigations in place through effective control design and implementation
  • Develop and maintain the operational risk and controls register within the defined risk appetite
  • Manage controls implementation, self-assessments, testing and reporting
  • Assist in producing risk reports for the board and its committees
  • Support senior business leaders in governing and managing risks

  
About You

The ideal candidate will have a background in risk and controls management within Line 1 risk. Mortgages and Financial Services experience is required, and non-bank lender experience will be viewed favourably. You will have a strong understanding and proven competence in risk and compliance management policies and frameworks. This role requires strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential critical threats and opportunities. You will have exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
